Mindfulness is becoming more common place. Mindfulness workshops are being offered in the workplace to help with focus and concentration at work and in the moment. Extending this idea further to include a mind body connection while at work can only increase energy and productivity. You’re probably wondering, I don’t do anything involves my body at work? This isn’t true. Just sitting in front of a computer screen all day involved your body. While your mind is busy working all day, your mind isn’t always considering the needs of body sitting there, constrained, or standing all day a counter serving customers, walking around serving customers, hunched over on a roof replacing shingles and many other work place roles where we just take for granted our body has to do what it has to do to get the job done. Learning to listen to your body, being mindful of your body’s needs can only help with productivity. Think about it…mindfulness for your mind help minimize stress and anxiety in your thoughts; mindfulness / awareness of your body’s “stresses” will help minimize the stress and anxiety your body has in it.
Stress free mind + stress free body = increased quality of life
The posture whisperer is not an ergonomic specialist. We are not here to prescribe or sell specialized office equipment. These are great tools to help with posture correction which will hopefully help aid in reduced pain. However, using these tools optimally and / or hopefully not having to use these aids at all, is what we help you with. We give you the skills to learn to be more aware of your body, posture and how to hold and carry yourself in any setting so you move as efficiently as possible with little to no discomfort. In many cases, our environment or the tasks we have to do, just aren’t helping us reduce the stress in our bodies. In these cases it’s learning to listen and hear what our body is telling us and then finding the best ways to respond to give our bodies relief, a break and re-energize so we can resume our chores, tasks and work comfortably.
