Pilates Reformer Personal Training

The first day I laid down on a reformer and was put through and Pilates reformer class, I thought, “Every single person can do this and get something out of it.  Every person needs chance to try this.”

The world of Pilates has changed a lot in the past 17 years since I first started learning about Pilates.  Technology, social media and our culture has certainly influenced the changes in Pilates.  What hasn’t changed is the benefits Pilates can offer to every person at every stage of life.   I want to help share Pilates with more people and help them achieve their goals and aspirations through private Pilates reformer training.

I take the time to get to know you—your movement history, physical background, goals, and aspirations for your health and well-being. Together, we’ll work to bring those goals to life from the inside out. Pilates is the vehicle we use to achieve these aspirations. I believe that progress, no matter how small, is still progress and every step forward brings you closer to your goals.

Personal Interests

My interests are diverse and include continuous learning, outdoor activities like walking, hiking, and kayaking, trying different foods, and spending time with dogs. This variety keeps me energized and open to new perspectives, which I bring into every Pilates training session.

Why I Am a Pilates Reformer Trainer?

I love Pilates for its variety of exercises, the unique apparatus, and the many benefits it offers. I believe anyone, at any stage of life and fitness level, can benefit from Pilates. Sharing this knowledge and helping people discover how Pilates can improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being is my passion. Learn how others have felt after working with me.

Who I Am For

I work with men and women who want to prioritize a healthy lifestyle, focusing on physical movement, mobility, community, and enjoyment, all while working at their own pace.

Examples include:

  • Individuals recovering from injuries
  • People who have been sedentary for a while
  • Older adults looking to maintain mobility
  • Younger individuals training for activities requiring stabilization

Women

  • New mothers recovering from diastasis recti (mid to late 30s, early 40s)
  • Women who struggle to stick to the “gym thing” and need accountability through scheduled sessions
  • Busy women in their late 40s and 50s seeking effective, energy-suited workouts that complement their lifestyle, especially those managing injuries (knees, neck, shoulders, etc.)
  • Women nearing or in retirement (late 50s, 60s) who want to stay active
  • Older women (late 60s, 70s+) enjoying low-impact activities and smaller group settings with a social component
  • Younger women in their 20s inspired by Pilates trends on TikTok and Instagram

Men

  • Men coming to class with their partners (30s to early 60s). Younger men may be hesitant at first, but older men (late 40s, 50s) often continue on their own after experiencing the benefits.
  • Men who come on their own, often dealing with mobility issues, back pain, disc problems, or recovering from injuries—usually in their late 40s and 50s.

Outcomes I Deliver

  • Physical Wellness: Improved mobility, stability, increased energy, strength, and muscular endurance.
  • Being Heard: A customized approach that uses Pilates to rehabilitate, restore, maintain, and enhance physical and mental well-being and performance.
  • Relaxed, Open Environment: Support throughout the process in a welcoming, non-judgmental space.

“Being Heard,” “Open Environment,” and “Support” Includes but not limited to:

  • Integrating information from other practitioners (physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists) to ensure a collaborative approach, even if we don’t work directly with them.
  • Providing a space for clients to share their emotional and mental well-being as it relates to their physical fitness and Pilates journey.

How We Generate Your Outcomes

  1. Gather Information: I’ll talk with you to understand your needs, what you’ve tried before, what’s worked, what hasn’t, and why you’re interested in Pilates. We’ll discuss your goals and how Pilates can help. (I’ll also confirm if the studio requires any specific forms for private clients.)
  2. Explain the Benefits of Pilates: I’ll show how Pilates complements what you’re already doing and outline the outcomes you can expect, setting realistic expectations.
  3. Set a Time Frame: I’ll ask about how many sessions you’ve purchased beyond the first, so we can plan accordingly and manage expectations.
  4. Physical Assessment: I’ll assess your current movement and needs through guided exercises.
  5. Gather Feedback: At the end of each session, I’ll check in on how you’re feeling. If more sessions are booked, we’ll plan the next one. I’ll also offer “homework” (like active breathing or deep core awareness) to keep you engaged between sessions.
  6. Plan for Next Sessions: I’ll note everything from our session and outline the next one, adjusting based on how you feel.

Apparatus Used

All training incorporates Pilates principles and available apparatus:

  • In-studio: Reformer, Cadillac, Springboard, Chair, Mat, Barrels, and more, depending on what benefits you.
  • In-home: Whatever Pilates equipment you have. At a minimum, a mat and basic props such as bands, mini stability balls, foam rollers, light weights, toning balls, or a magic circle.
